Conference Overview
A Vision Realised: The ACCP Journey
As the demand for patient-centred care and clinical pharmacy grew across Asia, so did the need for a platform to share knowledge. This vision began in 1996, when leaders from China, Korea, Japan, and the USA conceived a forum for practical exchange.
The journey started humbly in 1997 with the first conference (originally named EACDCPPE) held in the USA, attended by just 36 representatives. By 1999, the second meeting in Shanghai highlighted the unique developmental needs of Asian pharmacy practice compared to the West.
A pivotal transformation occurred in 2003 in Japan, where the event was rebranded as the Asian Conference on Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP). This marked a new era of expansion, welcoming nations like the Philippines, Indonesia, and Singapore. Recognising the explosive growth of the profession, members at the 2005 Malaysia conference voted to move from biennial to annual meetings, ensuring continuous collaboration for a sustainable future.
Over the decades, ACCP has convened across Asia's foremost academic and clinical hubs — from Thailand, China, and Japan to South Korea, Indonesia, and Vietnam — each gathering advancing the boundaries of pharmacy practice.
A New Chapter: ACCP Returns to Malaysia
In 2005 and again in 2014, Malaysia proudly hosted the conference that reshaped ACCP's future — the decision to hold annual meetings was born on Malaysian soil. Now, more than two decades later, we are honoured to welcome the ACCP back to Malaysia.
In 2027, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), home to the nation's first and top-ranked pharmacy school, will be hosting the 26th ACCP in the historic and vibrant island city of Penang.

The Theme
Under the visionary theme "Bridging Science and Practice in Clinical Pharmacy: Innovation, Precision and Holistic Care", this conference will chart the future of clinical pharmacy across four transformative pillars:
-
Personalised Medicine in Clinical Pharmacy
Advances in pharmacogenomics, biomarker-guided therapy, and precision dosing are reshaping how pharmacists contribute to individualised patient care. This track explores the integration of molecular insights into everyday clinical decision-making, from oncology to chronic disease management, and the pharmacist's evolving role in tailoring therapies to each patient's unique genetic and phenotypic profile.-
Innovation and Advancement in Pharmacy Practice and Education
From artificial intelligence in clinical decision support to digital health tools, automation, and telepharmacy — the landscape of pharmacy practice is being transformed by technology. This stream examines cutting-edge innovations redefining professional roles, workflow efficiency, and patient outcomes across community, hospital, and primary care settings. -
Integrative and Holistic Medicine
Malaysia's rich heritage in traditional and complementary medicine (T&CM), supported by the National T&CM Policy and the T&CM Act 2016, provides a unique lens for this track. Delegates will explore how clinical pharmacists can bridge evidence-based practice with traditional systems — including Malay traditional medicine, Chinese medicine, and Ayurveda — to deliver truly holistic, culturally competent patient care. -
Halal Pharmaceuticals and Cosmetics
As a global leader in halal standards — having pioneered the MS 2424:2012 Halal Pharmaceutical Guidelines — Malaysia offers an unparalleled platform to discuss halal assurance in pharmaceutical manufacturing, supply chain traceability, and halal-conscious cosmetic development. This track addresses a growing international demand for ethically sourced, faith-compliant healthcare products and the pharmacist's role in counselling and quality assurance.
